KILLINGLY - Raymond Collette, 69, of R&R Park Road, Dayville, formerly of Church Street, Putnam, a longtime textile printer and machine operator, died yesterday at home after a short illness.

He leaves his wife of 45 years, Jean (Jolly) Collette; two sons, Michael Collette of Thompson and Richard Collette of Dayville; two sisters, Florence Houle and Jeannette Korch, both of Putnam; two grandsons; nephews and nieces. He was born and raised in Putnam, son of Hector and Dora (Bonosconi) Collette, and lived there before moving to Dayville in 1989.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, serving overseas.
Mr. Collette was a printer at American Thread Co. in Willimantic, Conn., where he worked for 25 years. He was then a machine operator for many years at Putnam Finishing Co. Putnam-Herzl Co. and Priority Finishing Co., all in Putnam. After that, he was a forklift operator at Cranston Print Works Co. in Webster, retiring in 1992.

Mr. Collette was a communicant of St. Anne's Church in Ballouville and a former communicant of St. Mary's Church in Putnam. He was a life member of Putnam Post 1523, Veterans of Foreign Wars.

The funeral will be held tomorrow from Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove St., Putnam, with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Anne's Church, Ballouville Road, Ballouville. A military burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Putnam. Calling hours are 6 to 9 tonight at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northeastern Connecticut, or HealthNet Home Care, both PO Box 203, Pomfret Center, CT 06259.
