OBITUARY
Services for Donald W. Fox, 71, of Watchung, an award-winning artist, will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow in the Wilson Memorial Church, Watchung. Arrangements are by the Paul Ippolito Summit Memorial.
Mr. Fox, who died Tuesday in Overlook Hospital in Summit, was a registered nurse at Overlook Hospital for 13 years before retiring in 1994.
He received an associate's degree in nursing from Phoenix College in Phoenix in 1978.
Mr. Fox had paintings exhibited in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Maine and Arizona. Some of his awards included the Award for Excellence at the Millburn-Short Hills Art Exhibition held at Seton Hall University in South Orange and the 1999 Award of Excellence given by the Westfield Art Association.
He served in the Army during the Korean War.
Mr. Fox was an associate member of the New Jersey Watercolor Society, a member of the Westfield Art Association, the New Jersey Center for Visual Arts in Summit, the Art Center of New Jersey in Livingston, and the Millburn-Short Hills Art Association.
Born in Southbridge, Mass., he lived in Arizona and Summit before moving to Watchung 18 years ago.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret Ann; three daughters, Mrs. Susan McNany, Mrs. Elizabeth Josselyn and Mrs. Jennifer Davis; two sons, Christopher and Jonathan; three stepdaughters, Ms. Diana Van der Clute, Mrs. Martha Kaiser and Mrs. Sandra Van Pelt; two stepsons, Dean and Douglas Van der Clute; 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
