Lillian Gladys Korch Sweeney, 92, of State College, formerly of Webster, Mass., died Wednesday, May 15, 2002, at the Fairways at Brookline Village.

Born Nov. 4, 1909, in Webster, she was a daughter of the late Andrew Henry and Panna Rozgonyi Korch.

She married James Edmund Sweeney, who died in 1971.

She was a 1928 honors graduate of Bartlett High School in Webster.

She was a secretary for a number of regional companies in Hartford, Conn., and Southbridge and Webster, Mass., including the Bates Shoe Co. She retired as executive secretary for the administrator of Hubbard Regional Hospital.

She was active in the Church of the Reconciliation (Episcopal) in Webster, where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. She was a generous benefactor to the church organ fund.

She is survived by two sons, James Ross Sweeney of State College and Randall Bruce Sweeney of Brockton, Mass. a sister, Bertha Korch Wentworth of Webster a brother, Kenneth Andrew Korch of Webster four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at the Mount Zion Memorial Cemetery in Webster.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Reconciliation, West Main Street, Webster, MA 01570.

Arrangements are under the direction of Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St. in State College.
