At Aurora, Cayuga County, N. Y. on the 5th inst. James N. Burnham, Esq. Counsellor at Law, in the 25th year or his age. The deep sympathy which has been excited by the sudden departure of the lamented subject of this notice, proves that the endearing qualities of mind and heat of which he was possessed were held in high estimation. The sad tidings of his death were received with unfeigned sorrow, and the affection and respect with which his remains were followed to the tomb were such as are very rarely witnessed. It is peculiarly trying to see a young man cut down in the bloom of life under any circumstances, but it becomes especially so when we behold one whose prospects were so bright and whose expectations in life were so flattering, fall before the King of Terrors. - Cayuga Patriot.
[Mr. B. was a nephew of Col. Charles Mattoon, of Lenox, and was favorably known to many of the citizens of that town, who will regret his early departure.]
