Obituary



Southbridge: Helene C. (Slosek) Seremet, 98, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 19th, in the Southbridge Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, after a long illness.

Her husband of 43 years, Joseph R. Seremet, died in 1983. Helene and Joseph were married in 1940 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Indian Orchard. She leaves a son, Joseph H. Seremet and his wife Nancy of TX; two daughters, Virginia Loin and her husband Frank of NY and Celeste A. Weberg and her husband Daniel of NH; six grandchildren, Melissa Campbell, Michelle Blackburn, Michael Loin, Patrick Seremet and Daniel Weberg; 7 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her grandson, Kevin Seremet; her two sisters, and three brothers. She was born in Springfield the daughter of the late John and Mary (Novak) Slosek.

Helene was and active member of St. Hedwig's Church in Southbridge and VFW Post 6055 Ladies Auxiliary in Southbridge.

The family would like to thank the caregivers and staff of Southbridge Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Hospice Care and Helene's special angel companion.

Her funeral will be held on Friday, Jan. 27th, from the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, with a Mass at 10:00am in St. Hedwig's Church of the St. John Paul II Parish, Everett St., Southbridge. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Southbridge. A calling hour in the funeral home will be held on Friday, Jan. 27th, from 8:30 to 9:30am.
