Obituary

The death of Oliver Wood, Esq., occurring at one o'olock this morning, was not unexpected, he having been a sufferer for months, he was in full possession of his faculties, passing away as peacefully as if dropping to sleep. Mr. Wood was 51 years of age October last.

He was one of the ablest lawyers in the city, a man of great powers in his way, and carried a large practice. He came to this city from Aurora in 1865, and had since resided here.

He leaves a widow and two sons, while scores of warm friends who enjoyed his neighborly kindness and hearty good nature, will remember Oliver Wood for his innate generosity.

The funeral will be held at tbe family residence on Friday next, at 2 P. M.
