Harry Baker

Harry Baker, 72, of 145 Cottage St., Hillsgrove, died yesterday at Rhode Island Hospital after suffering a heart attack at his home on Tuesday night.

The husband of Leah (McDermott) Baker, he had been a resident of Hillsgrove for more than 60 years.

Born in Sutton, Mass., he was the son of the late John and Jane (Davis) Baker. He had retired last April after having been employed for 15 years as a stock clerk at the Quonset Naval Air Station. He had previously been employed as a maintenance man at the State house.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. David Matthews of Plattsburg, N.Y.; a son, John Baker of Warwick; a foster son, Joseph Jaries of Warwick; seven grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. George Plante of Esmond; and a brother Charles Baker of Providence.

The funeral will be held at 8 a.m. Saturday from the Raoul G. Henault Funeral Home, with a requiem Mass at St. Francis Church, Hillsgrove, at 9 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Crompton.
