"Jacob was born in England in 1624. He married first Elizabeth ____ ...He afterwards married for a second wife, Damaris Robinson, widow of Nathaniel Robinson, mariner of Boston."

"...seven years old when he landed in Boston with his parents in 1631. Two years later, when only nine years old, he removed with others of the family to Agawam or Ipswich, which was to be his future home, and very probably assisted his father in building his house in this strange land."

"He was the youngest son, and by his father's will was to come into possession of his homestead and lands after his mothers death...He was chosen sergeant of the military company of the town in 1664...He was a farmer and his name is often seen upon the records in the purchase and sale of farming lands."

"This house he occupied until the seventh of August 1668, when it was destroyed by fire through the carelessness of a servant girl. She was imprisoned and afterward brought up before the magistrate to answer for her deed."

"His house (rebuilt) was struck by lightening on a Sunday in 1671...Seargent Jacob Perkins died in Ipswich Jan. 27, 1699-1700, aged seventy-six years."
