Pierre Paradis

Pierre Paradis was baptized on 20 July 1604, at the Notre-Dame de Mortagne, in the capital of the Perche. He is the son of Jacques Paradis, knife crafter and Michelle Pelle. All those who bear the name of Paradis, descended from Pierre and his marriage on 11 February 1632, with Barbe Guyon. The latter, named on 19 April 1617, is younger than her husband of 13 years. She is the eldest daughter of the ancestor Jean Guyon, sieur Dubuisson, and Mathurine Robin who also came to New France in the spring of 1634.

Pierre Paradis arrived in New France on 1 July 1652, as dealer, of his craft. The couple had twelve children, eight of whom were born in France.

First, Marie Paradis, born in Mortagne, in 1642, who became the wife on 16 October 1656, at the age of 14 years, the ancestor Guillaume Baucher dit Morency, who gives thirteen children. Guillaume Baucher is from the town of Montmorency, near Paris, where he was born around 1630, in the parish church of St. Martin. Guillaume Baucher died in October 1687 and his widow, Marie Paradis, 15 December 1708.

The second child from France, Guillaume Paradis, was baptized on 24 September 1644, at Ste-Croix de Mortagne au Perche. He married in 1670, Geneviève Milloir, daughter of the ancestor Jean Milloir and Jeanne LeRoy. Twelve children born to the couple, whose Ignace Paradis who married Marie Anne Turcotte.

Then the third, Pierre Paradis, was baptized on 2 October 1647, at Ste-Croix de Mortagne au Perche. He faithfully follows the example of his brother and chooses partner for life in 1674, Jeanne Milloir, the sister of Genevieve. They in turn, have fifteen children, including Anne Paradis who married Pierre Bouchard dit Dorval, in 1709.

The ancestor, Pierre Paradis died on 29 January 1675, in St-Pierre on the island of Orleans and was buried on 30, in Ste-Famille de l'Ile d'Orleans. His widow, Barbe Guyon, remains several years with her daughter Marie Paradis, wife of Guillaume Baucher dit Morency, Ste-Famille de l'Ile d'Orleans. She was buried on 29 November 1700, in St-Pierre, Ile d'Orleans.
