GARDNER -- Marion L. (Vincent) Popple, 90, of 43 Hill St., a retired cafeteria manager, died Tuesday, April 17, at home after a short illness.
Her husband, David I. Popple, died in 1988. She leaves two sons, David I. Popple of Westminster and Lawrence Popple of Holden a daughter, Patricia Thomas of Westminster 15 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. A son, Richard Popple of Winterhaven, Fla., died in 1996. She was born in Gardner, daughter of Hermidas and Emma (Lafarier) Vincent, and graduated from Gardner High School in 1928.
Mrs. Popple was the cafeteria manager 14 years at Gardner High School before retiring. She was a member of the South Gardner Historical Society and the Golden Age Club, and was a former Girl Scout leader.
The funeral service will be private. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to South Gardner Historical Society, c/ o Warren Sinclair, 55 Union St., Gardner, MA 01440. Smith Funeral Home, 69 Vernon St., is directing arrangements.
