Obituary

ROEDERER, Shirley Mason 92, passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at her home in Wimauma, FL. Shirley, originally from Worchester, MA, spent the majority of her life in Jeffersontown, KY where she met her husband of 68 years, Charles F. Roederer, who passed in February 2020. Shirley was a Registered Nurse in long-term care and retired as a nursing/ retirement home administrator. Shirley loved her family, sharing family history and playing card games at every opportunity. Shirley, daughter of the late Earle and Gertrude Mason, is survived by her sister, Barbara McClain of Louisville, Ky. She is also survived by her two daughters, Susan and Karen Roederer; two sons, Chris (Anita) and Steven Roederer; and two granddaughters, Jennifer Sonntag and Patricia (Matthew) Pierson. Missed dearly is daughter, Sandra Sonntag, who passed unexpectedly in 2002. Family also includes two step-grandchildren, Matthew Bowles (Rachel) and Christian Bowles (Mallory); three great-grandsons. A memorial service will be held on February 5, 2022 at St. Andrews Presbyterian, 11 am at 1239 W. Del Webb Blvd., Sun City Center, where Shirley will be laid to rest. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Andrews Presbyterian or Tampa General Hospital.
