Chester Robb dies, was music teacher
CLIFTON SPRINGS - Chester T.
Robb, 71, of 20 Ladue Ave, formerly of Newark and Fairhaven, died yesterday in Genesee Hospital, Rochester. Mr. Robb retired in 1971 as head of the school music department in Newark and he conducted the Newark Park Band for many years.

Scott Funeral Home in Newark is in charge of arrangements.

There are no prior calling hours. A private graveside service will beheld at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Oncology Department of
Genesee Hospital. Flowers are gratefully declined.

He was born in Brattleboro, Vt., Nov. 20, 1907, son of Isaac and Christine Betterly Robb.

He was a graduate of Ithaca College. In 1933, he came to Newark to teach music, and for the first two years taught half-time in the Newark school system and half-time in the Lyons school system.

He continued teaching in Newark full-time until he retired.

He was a former mayor of Fairhaven, a charter member of the New York State High School Music Association, member of Geneva Musicians
Association, Local No. 570 AFM, member of the Oswego United Methodist Church, and Newark Lions Club.

He is survived by his wife, Leona (Sherman) Robb; his mother, Mrs.
Christine Robb of Brattleboro, Vt.; two daughters, Mrs. John (Suzanne) Dunn of Mt. Morris and Mrs. Robert (Nancy) Didget of Scottsville; two brothers, Charles of Massena and Hermon of Brattleboro, Vt.; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
