LaCOSS. Irene (Lockwood) LaCoss, 83, of Guilford, formerly of Manchester, wife of the late Kenneth J. LaCoss, died Saturday (Jan. 21, 1995) at an area convalescent home. Born in Manchester, Jan. 14, 1912, daughter of the late Henry and Geneva (Irons) Lockwood, she had been a lifelong resident of Manchester until moving to Guilford in 1991. Mrs. LaCoss was an Office Supervisor for Sears & Roebuck until her retirement in 1965. She was a graduate of the former Connecticut Business College, a member of South United Methodist Church in Manchester, and was a former member of the DAV Auxiliary. Irene is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth J. and Gail LaCoss, Jr. of Phoenix, Ariz.; a son-in-law, Robert Janesky of Guilford; two sisters, Florence Dowd, Lillian Metcalf, both of Manchester; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Denise Janesky. Funeral services will be Wednesday, 11 a.m., at the Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St., Manchester. Burial will be in the East Cemetery. Friends may call at the Funeral Home, Tuesday, 7-9 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the South United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 1226 Main St., Manchester 06040, or the Disabled American Veterans, 450 Main St., Hartford 06103.
