Charlotte Dorothy FERRIS
Obituary
Monroe, Charlotte Dorothy, 83 of Hartford, passed away on April 24, 2020. Daughter of the late William E. Ferris and Gladys Cicero Ferris, Charlotte was born December 25, 1936 in Hartford CT. She is survived by her daughter Kimberly Shannon of East Hartford; son-in-law Graylon Shannon of Chesire; two grandchildren Joseph and Kiana Shannon of East Hartford; a special niece Tara Chambers of East Hartford; sister Winnie Singleton of GA; four great grandchildren, Jaylon Shannon, Brandon Shannon ll, Khiron Shannon, Jordyn Shannon and a host of loving relatives and friends. She was predeceased by three brothers, William, Arthur, and Claxton; two sisters Carol, and Terry; and her grandson Brandon Shannon. Charlotte was a gentle soul who loved fiercely. She loved her family, she loved Jehovah, and she loved all animals great and small -- which she demonstrated by feeding the stray and unattended animals in her neighborhood. In her spare time, she enjoyed video games, word puzzles, and listening to her albums. After 40 years of service with G. Fox & Co, she devoted her time to those she cared for. Her love of family was a beautiful thing to witness and experience, including her unique sense of humor and Cheshire cat grin. Charlotte became grandma, mommy, or auntie to most she encountered. Once she entered your life, she claimed a spot in your heart and you were forever changed. So as we take a moment to reflect and celebrate Charlotte's life, let's remember the words of Charlie Pride (one of her favorites): "Be Grateful".
