WHEELER. Audrey Margaret (Carroll) Wheeler, of 27 Boulder Trail, Killingworth, wife of Norman A.. Wheeler, died Friday (Oct. 23) at Middlesex Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was born in Hartford, the youngest of nine children of the late John L. Carroll, Sr. and Margaret (Poehler) Carroll, and was raised in the Wilson section of Windsor. She lived most of her life in Hartford, Wethersfield and South Windsor, and after her retirement, moved to Killingworth. Mrs. Wheeler retired in 1979 from the Central Accounts Payable Division, of the State Comptrollers Office after 23 years of state employment. She was a member of the Wapping Community Church of South Windsor. Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Harry L. (Denice) Welles Jr.; a sister, Mrs. Francis (Barbara) Beakey of Old Lyme and East Windsor; a brother, John Carroll Jr. of Granby; a granddaughter, Jessica Welles of Norwich, N.Y.; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Mrs. Richard (Arline) Mooney, Mrs. Richard (Rhea) Reilly and Mrs. Joseph (Lillian) Wenzel; three brothers, Raymond Carroll, Clayton Carroll and William Carroll. Funeral service will be Monday (Oct. 26), 10 a.m., in the Swan Funeral Home, 80 E. Main St., Clinton. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday, 3-6 p.m. The family request that memorial donations be made to the Killingworth Ambulance Association, P.O.
