Esther D. Roberts, 88, former schoolteacher
PITTSFIELD Esther D. Roberts, 88, of Greenville, N.Y., formerly of Pittsfield, died Tuesday at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, NY. Born in Pittsfield on March 11, 1912. daughter of John and Bess Davison, she attended local schools. Mrs. Roberts was employed as a schoolteacher. She also was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Reformed Church of Hudson, N.Y., past president of the Women's Guild, and past president and a longtime member of the Hudson Fortnightly. She also served as secretary of the Claverack Library for several years. She and her husband, Addison, were longtime members of the Columbia Golf and Country Club. Her husband of 47 years, W. Addison Roberts, is deceased. She leaves a son, Peter Roberts of New York City; a daughter, Ellen Hammond of Clarksville, N.Y, and two granddaughters.
FUNERAL NOTICE Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Esther was an avid reader and would appreciate all contributions be made to the Greenville Public Library, Box 8, Greenville, NY 12083. Arrangements were with BATES & ANDERSON FUNERAL HOME, 110 Green St., Hudson.
