SUTTON -- James D. Goode, 64, of 138 Leland Hill Road, died Thursday, Oct. 26, at home after a long illness.

He leaves his wife of 29 years, Carol A. (Millette) Goode; a son, James J. Goode of Port Charlotte, Fla.; three daughters, Kathleen Goode of New Bedford, and Nicole A. and Michelle B. Goode, both of Sutton; his stepfather, John Zurawka of Webster; two brothers, Timothy Goode of Worcester and Peter Goode of Webster; nephews and nieces. He was born in Somerville, son of James F. and Vivian (Feige) Goode, and lived many years in Worcester before moving to Sutton in 1975. He was an Air Force radar technician during the Korean War. He earned his General Equivalency Diploma while in the service.

Mr. Goode was a truck driver 10 years for CCI Trucking in North Haven, Conn., retiring last year. After retiring, he worked part time at St. Camillus Nursing Home in Whitinsville.

He was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Parish and its Men's Club. He was past commander and color guard member of Dudley Gendron Post 414 American Legion in Sutton. He was a life member and past president of Webster Aerie, Fraternal Order of Eagles.

The military funeral will be at 9 a.m. Monday, Oct. 30, from Turgeon Funeral Home, 56 Main St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 10 Waters St. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, South Grafton. Calling hours are 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29, in the funeral home. Members of Dudley Gendron Post will conduct their ritual at 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29, in the funeral home.
