Robert Slade, 53, born in N. Adams Robert C. Slade, 53, of Turnpike Road, Jaffrey N.H.. son of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton J. Slade of Main Road, Stamford, Vt., died Monday at Monadnock Community Hospital, Peterborough, N.H. Death followed a long illness. He was the administrator of the hospital for 13 before he retired this year because of ill health. He was born in North Adams, Oct. 21, 1928 and lived here before moving to New Hampshire 13 years ago. He was graduated from Drury High School and in 1952 from American International College, Springfield. Mr. Slade was a member of the American Hospital Association, the New Hampshire Hospital Association, and was a former director of the New Hampshire Blue Cross-Blue Shield and was a corporate member of the Peterborough Savings Bank. Besides his parents in Stamford, he leaves his wife, the former Betty Sawyer in Jaffrey, he leaves two sons, R. Scott Slade and Kenneth D. Slade, both of Peterborough; and a daughter, E. Kimberly Fagnant of East Sandwich, Mass. A memorial service was conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Union Congregational Church, Peterborough by the Rev. George G. Faul, pastor. Burial was in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. The Jellison Funeral Home, Peterborough, was in charge.
