"Alfred J. Gaboury, 63, of 15 Richmond Ave. died yesterday in his home after a long illness."

"He leaves his wife, Shirley A. (Field) Gaboury; a son, John K. Gaboury of Yokosuka, Japan; a daughter, Tracey A. Gaboury of Worcester; five stepsons, James Dodd of Southboro, Steven Dodd of East Orlando, Fla., Robert Dodd of St. Cloud, Fla., Joel Dodd of Worcester and Randy Dodd of Millbury; five stepdaughters, Pamela Lapensee and Regina Mitchell, both of Worcester, Paula Gardner of Barre, Kathleen Armstrong of St. Cloud, Fla., and Sandra Valenski of Holden; his mother, Cleytris (Walsh) Gaboury, and his stepfather, George Gaboury of North Grosvenordale; his stepmother, Leda (Robillard) Gaboury of Auburn; three sisters, Marjorie Mingolla and Joanne Albano Barry, both of Auburn, and Barbara Barrette of Oxford; 22 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester, son of Alfred Gaboury, and lived here many years."

"Mr. Gaboury served in the Navy for many years. He was a veteran of World War II, serving as a chief petty officer in the Asian-Pacific theater. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in Korea, and the Vietnam War, serving in Vietnam."

"Mr. Gaboury was a truck driver for Clean Environment Trucking Co. in Billerica for eight years before he retired."

"He was a member of Local 25, Teamsters Union in Boston and the Fleet Reserve Association in Des Moines, Iowa."

"A memorial Mass will held at a time to be announced. After cremation, his ashes will be scattered at sea. There are no calling hours. The family requests flowers be omitted. Memorial contributions may be made instead to the Hospice Program, Visiting Nurse Association of Central Massachusetts, 120 Thomas St., Worcester, 01608. Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Hammond St., is directing arrangements."
