BLESSING. Raymond W. Blessing, 73, of 9 Ellis Road, Enfield, husband of Marie Alice (Renaud) Blessing, died Monday (Nov. 20) at Hartford Hospital. He was born in Wethersfield, was a former resident of East Hartford, and moved to Enfield 35 years ago. He was employed as a general foreman for Pratt & Whitney Division of United Technologies Corp, for 35 years retiring in 1980, and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Raymond E. Blessing of Billerica, Mass., and Mark C. Blessing of Amsterdam, Netherlands; three daughters, Mrs. Richard (Dorian) Scabich of South Windsor, Miss Deborah Blessing of New York, N.Y., and Mrs. Lisa Proctor of Pittsfield, Mass.; a brother, Woodrow Blessing of Glastonbury; four sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Lasker, and Mrs. Marian Garavelli, both of Glastonbury, Mrs. Thelma Merritt, and Mrs. Connie Connelly, both of East Hartford; and six grandchildren, Jonathan, Carrie, and Jason Scabich, and Laura, Emily and James Blessing. Funeral service will be Saturday, 10 a.m., from the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, followed by a mass of Christian burial, 11 a.m., at Holy Family Church. Burial will be in Enfield following the church service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Memorial donations may be made for the benefit of the homeless to St. Vincent DePaul Society, co Holy Family Church, Simon Road, Enfield 06082.
