1954 - Death of her brother

Julius Flechner of Owl's Nest Berlin Turnpike Berlin died Saturday night at his home He was born In New Britain and had lived in Berlin for the last 21 years He formerly operated the Red Cedars Motel which was the first motel on the Berlin Turnpike He erected the first cabins on the turnpike 27 years ago He was a veteran of World War I He served as a private in Co F 74th Infantry 12th Division He was a member of St An- drew' Episcopal Church William H Day He leaves his wife Mrs Emily FlechnCr of Berlin three brothers Emil Flechner of this city: Walter Flechner of Bristol and Theodore Flechner of New Britain five sisters Mrs August Milke of Hartford Mrs Adeline Timmerman of West Hartford Mrs Johanna Monroe of Bristol Mrs Henry Ludemann of West Haven Mrs Lester Hansen of Fort Lauderdale Fla and several nieces and nephews Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 pm at St Andrew's Episcopal Church with the Rev John S Kromer pastor and the Rev Burt Richards of Berlin Congregational Church officiating Burial will be in Maple Cemetery Berlin Funeral services for Joseph Hirst of 208 Hobart Street were held Saturday at 2 p m at the Lampihier Funeral Home 122 West Main Street The Rev John S Kromer of St Andrew's Church officiated and burial was in Walnut Grove The pallbearers were Frank Julius and Edward Ives Clarence Howes Morton F Judd Jr and Harry W Hirst
