PITTSFIELD -- Marion G. Roberts, 93, formerly of 379 East St., died Monday at West Florida Hospital in Pensacola, Fla. She had lived in Pensacola with her son, Stephen W. Roberts Sr., since March 2004.

Born in Pittsfield on Jan. 29, 1911, daughter of David J. and Mary B. Wilcox Gimlich, she attended Pittsfield schools.

She was employed by the former England Brothers department store for 26 years, retiring in October 1980.

Mrs. Roberts was a member of Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church, the England Brothers Quarter-Century Club and AARP.

Besides her son, she leaves five grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.


FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Mrs. Marion G. Roberts will be held in the spring at Pittsfield Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME is in charge of local arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home at 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201. Mrs. Roberts was preceded in death by her beloved brother and sisters.
