Jean Plunkett, 72, Jean Arnold) Thurston Plunkett, 72, of 9 Marshall Ave., Adams, died Friday, Sept. 23, 1994, at her home. Born in Adams, Dec. 27, 1921, she was a daughter of Robert T. and Elsie (Card) Arnold. She attended Adams elementary schools, graduated from the Walnut Hill School, Nat-ick, and attended Mount Holyoke College and Katherine Gibbs School, Boston. Her first position was that of secretary to the dean of Pine Manor Junior College, Wellesley, where she was employed for three years. She then returned to Adams, where she worked for her father in the office of the former R.T. Arnold Lumber , Corp.; Adams. She was employed there for 15 years until retiring. Mrs. Plunkett was a member or the First Congregational Church, Franklin Chapter 92 Order of the Eastern Star, a former member of the Adams Chamber of Commerce, and a former member and past secretary of the Adams Arts nd Crafts Club, all in Adams. Her husband, Douglas R. Plunkett, longtime owner and operator of the Adams former Plunkett Studio, Adams, whom she married June 23, 1956, died Dec. 12, 1989. She leaves a son, Alan C. Thurston of Adams; a sister, Mrs. Robert (Faye) Buckley of Indianapolis, Ind.; a brother, Robert T. Arnold Jr. of Adams and Florida; five grandchildren, Alan Thurston Jr. and Evan Thurston, both of North Adams, Amy Thurston, Trevor Thurston and Heather Thurston, all of Adams; nieces and nephews. Another brother, Frank E. Arnold, is deceased. Services will be conducted Tuesday, 1 1 a.m., in the First Congregational Church, Adams, by the Rev. Robert A. Magie, pastor. Burial will follow in Maple Street Cemetery, Adams. There are no calling hours. The Auge'-Paciorek-Simmons Funeral Home, Adams, is in charge of arrangements. Donations in her memory may be made to the Adams Ambulance Service through the funeral home, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, Mass. 01220.

Jean Plunkett Services for Jean (Arnold) Thurston Plunkett, 72, of Adams, who died Sept 23, will be conducted Tuesday, 11 a.m. in the First Congregational Church, Adams, by the Rev. Robert A. Magie, pastor. Burial will follow in Maple Street Cemetery, Adams. Arrangements are by the Auge'-Pacorek-Simmons Funeral Home, Adams. There are no calling hours.
