PITTSFIELD
EDGAR T. COPELAND DIES IN PITTSFIELD WATCHING PARADE

Had Retired from GE in 1951; Funeral Services To Be Tuesday

"Pittsfield, July 4 - Edgar T. Copeland, 66, of 15 South Carolina Ave., died suddenly at 10.45 this morning, while watching the Fourth of July parade at Reder gas station on North St. Associate Medical Examiner Antonio P. Desautels pronounced death due to a heart attack."

"Mr. Copeland retired in November, 1951, as a supervisor of wage rate and planning at the General Electric Co. He was a lifelong resident of Pittfield, educated in the public schools. During World War I, Mr. Copeland served with the American Expeditionary Force in Europe from September, 1917 until May, 1919, being discharged as a sergeant in the 328th Infantry of the 82d Division."

"He was a member of the Morningside Baptist Church, American Legion Post 68, Loyal Order of Moose, honorary member of the Stanley Club, and belonged to the GE Quarter Century Club and the GEAA. He is survived by his wife, the former Cora Fraley, one sister, Mrs. R. D. MacGinnis of Milford, Conn., two nieces, Mrs. George Scace and Mrs. J. E. Kenyon, Jr., of Pittsfield."

"Services will be held at the Wellington funeral home Tuesday at a time to be announced. The family will meet friends at the funeral home Sunday and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9."
