Obituary
Roger J. Bellerose, Sr., 73, of Manchester, NH, died December 16, 2007, at Elliot Hospital, from injuries sustained in a pedestrian-automobile accident.
Born in Manchester, NH on June 19, 1934, he was the son of Octave and Alice (Felix) Bellerose. He was raised in Suncook, NH and resided in Manchester since 1955.
Mr. Bellerose graduated from St. John’s High School, Concord, NH. He earned an associate degree in applied sciences from the New Hampshire Vocational-Technical College.
During the Korean War, he served with United States Navy on the USS Wasp.
Mr. Bellerose worked in the construction industry for thirty-two years. Until his retirement in 1991, he was employed with Harvey Construction Company.
He was a member of the Carpenters’ Union Local 625, the American Legion Henry J. Sweeney Post no. 2 , the American Legion Jutras Post and held life membership in the National Rifle Association. He served on the State of New Hampshire Public Water Excess Advisory Board. He was also a member of the board of directors of the Pointer Fish and Game Club. Mr. Bellerose was a longtime instructor with the State of New Hampshire Hunter Safety Program.
He was an active volunteer with Caring Hearts at Catholic Medical Center. He was a communicant of Saint Anthony Church.
Mr. Bellerose was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. An accomplished pool and billiard player, he was a member of the Queen City Pool League.
Family members include his wife of fifty two years, Janet D. (Baron) Bellerose of Manchester; four sons, Roger J. Bellerose, Jr. and his wife Ann of Goffstown, NH, Robert L. Bellerose and his wife Vivienne of Bedford, NH, Richard E. Bellerose and his wife Sherrie of Northfield, NH and Charles A. Bellerose and his wife Elissa of Nottingham, NH; five daughters, Mrs. Kevin (Sharon A.) Travis of Bedford, NH, Mrs. Wayne (Cheryl D. ) Charest of Manchester, NH, Mrs. Russell (Charlene C.) Ouellette of Bedford, NH, Mrs. Mark (Christine J. ) Loos of Weare, NH and Mrs. Scott (Celeste ) Dustin of Concord, NH; twenty-four grandchildren; two sisters, Rita Bellerose of Allenstown, NH and Claire Carey of Manchester; several nieces, nephews and one uncle.
Service: Funeral services are private.
Burial will take place in the State of New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH.
