ANDERSON, Frank F. "Sarge"
Frank F. "Sarge" Anderson, 94, of South Windsor, formerly of East Hartford husband of the late Hazel (Blessing) Anderson died Friday, (April 16, 2004) at a local nursing home. He was born March 25, 1910, in Manchester son of the late Harry G. and Nina (Sammis) Anderson and had resided in East Hartford for many years before moving to South Windsor. Mr. Anderson was a US. Army veteran having served for more than 20 years. Prior to his retirement he was employed with Pratt & Whitney as a mechanic. He was a member of the American Legion, a lifelong member of the National Rifle Association and was a pistol sharpshooter with the Hartford Gun Club. Mr. Anderson is survived by a brother, Gordon R. Anderson Sr. of Winchester, NH; a nephew, Gordon R. Anderson Jr. and his wife, Gloria of Enfield and two nieces, Patricia Hebert of Bristol and Jacqueline Anderson of Bloomfield. Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 20, at 11 a.m. at Watkins Funeral Home, 142 East Center St., Manchester, Burial with Military Honors will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. Calling hours will be Monday April 19, 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
