Margaret Marie Theinert age 97, died Tuesday February 15, 2011 at Premier Rehab. under the care of Beloit Regional Hospice.

She was born September 13, 1913 to the late John and Anna (Frauchiger) Streich in Woodford, WI. Margaret graduated from Ridgeway High School in Ridgeway, WI and attended the University of Wisconsin in Madison. She has been a Beloit resident since 1940. Margaret married Leo J. Theinert on October 26, 1940 in Maquoketa, Iowa. He preceded her in death on February 12, 1964. She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, the Eastern Star and the Beloit Federation of Women. Margaret was a tutor for the Stateline Literacy Council and a volunteer for the Beloit Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She was also a former member and president of the North End Club. Margaret enjoyed reading, music, theatre productions and tending to her flower garden.

She is survived by her son, Professor Leo T. Theinert of New York City: her brother, Walter Streich of Sun Prairie; a sister in law, Mary Streich of DeForest and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, Hannah Peterson and Erna Powell and two brothers, Herman and Hans Streich.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Premiere Rehab. and Beloit Regional Hospice for the care they gave Margaret.

Margaret’s Funeral Service will be 11:30 a.m. on Monday February 21, 2011 in the BRIAN MARK FUNERAL HOME, 1000 Inman Parkway, Beloit with Reverend Gail E. Abbott officiating.

Friends will be received on Monday in the Funeral Home from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service.

Following the service the cortege will process to Eastlawn Cemetery for interment.

A memorial is being established in her name to benefit St. Paul’s Episcopal Church or Beloit Regional Hospice.
