She was affectionately known as "MeMare" by her grandchildren and "Aunt Ruth" by her nieces and nephews. A longtime resident of Baton Rouge, she died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2003, at 4:20 p.m. at her home at Whealdon Estates. She was 86, born April 30, 1917, in New Orleans, to Henry and Edna Kammer David. She and her husband, Ferdy, owned David Moving Co. for 50 years. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Visiting at St. Joseph Cathedral from 8:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, celebrated by the Rev. Gerald F. Young. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David M. and Dianne Jinkins LeMieux; a daughter and son-in-law, Carol LeMieux Henderson and Warren Henderson; five grandchildren, Rene and Masson LeMieux, Michael and Emily Henderson and Kammer LeMieux Vignes; a special niece and nephew, Judy and David Henderson; and other nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph F. LeMieux; a daughter, Kerrie M. LeMieux; and parents, Henry and Edna David; and a sister, Edna D. Higgins. Pallbearers will be Masson LeMieux, Breck Brown, Cody Brown, Scott Wallace, Jay Higgins and Roland Smith. Honorary pallbearers are employees of David Moving Co. She was a lifetime member of Our Lady of the Lake Volunteer Auxiliary and Beta Sigma Phi sorority.
