Obituary



Lebanon, NH—Elizabeth N. Flemming, 89, passed away at Hanover Terrace Healthcare on Sunday July 25, 2010 at Hanover Terrace Healthcare while surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

She was born June 5, 1921 in Glens Falls, NY a daughter of the late Norman and Madeline (Long) Nadeau. Growing up her family moved several times from Whitehall, NY to Middlebury, VT, then to Bridport, VT and finally settling in White River Jct., VT. In her younger years she worked at Teddy’s Bar & Grille, J.J. Newbury in White River Jct, Shopping International and Dartmouth College before retiring in 1981. Elizabeth also owned and operated her own ceramic business for a time. She was married to Theron Wimett who was killed during World War II in 1945, she later married Charles Larabee who predeceased her in 1977 and then was married to Harold Flemming who predeceased her in 2004.

Elizabeth was a member of the Emblem Club, the Past Master of the Cascadnac Grange in Hartford, VT, a charter member of the Upper Valley Community Grange, Sacred Heart Church, and the Hartford Women’s Auxiliary Fire Department. She also enjoyed baking cakes, making candy and in her later years painting and making quilts which her children and grand children now have in their homes. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by four children Robert and his wife Glenna Wimett; Peter and his wife Sandy Wimett; David and his wife Marian Wimett; Sally Leavitt, two daughter-in-laws Pamela Larabee & Jean Bouchard, 21 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sons William Wimett and Lawrence Larabee; two grandchildren Pamela and Rebecca Wimett; a brother John Nadeau and a sister Norma Jean Nadeau, a son in law Robert Levitt and a daughter in law Edith Wimett.

Friends may call at the Ricker Funeral Home in Lebanon on Wednesday July 28, 2010 from 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held Thursday July 29, 2010 at 10 AM at the funeral home with burial to follow in the Hartford Cemetery in White River Jct., VT.
