Marie "Alice" Blessing, 82, of Ellis Road, Enfield, beloved wife of the late Raymond W. Blessing, died peacefully Sunday, March 12, 2006, at The Village at Buckland Court, South Windsor. Born December 21, 1923, in Berlin, N.H., she was the daughter of the late Edouard and Mary (Taylor) Renaud.
A loving mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend, Alice is survived by her children, Dorian Scabich and her husband, Richard, of South Windsor, Deborah Smiley and her husband, Stafford, of Bethesda, Md., Raymond Blessing of Maynard, Mass., Mark Blessing and his wife, Deborah, of Boston, Mass., and Lisa Proctor and her husband, Stephen, of Saunderstown, R.I.; her brother, Henry Renaud and his wife, Alice, of Berlin, N.H.; her sister, Cecile Dubois of Lancaster; a sister-in-law, Marion Garavelli of Windsor; 10 grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and friends. Alice was predeceased by three brothers, Edouard Renaud, Laurier "Charlie" Renaud, and Sylvio Renaud; five sisters, Yvette Dubois, Bella Renaud, Laetitsia Fournier, Laurenda Plante, and Doris Renaud.
Family and friends will gather on Wednesday, March 15, 2006, by 10 a.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, for a procession to Holy Family Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will take place in Enfield Street Cemetery.
Her family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, March 14, 2006, from 5 until 8 p.m., and on Wednesday, March 15, 2006, beginning at 9 a.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road.

The Blessing family would like to thank the caring staff at The Village at Buckland Court, the Visiting Nurses Hospice Program, caregivers, Anita and Margaret, and the numerous volunteers who brought comfort to Alice.
