ANSONIA — Richard C. Stevens, 81, of 47 West Walk, West Haven, died Thursday, Dec. 1, at Bishop Wicke Health Care. He was the widower of Marjorie Blessing Stevens.

Mr. Stevens was born Jan. 22, 1924, in Shelton, son of the late Edwin and Jenny Andrews Stevens. He was an Army veteran having served during World War II. He was a communicant of the United Methodist Church, and a member of the Derby, Shelton and Stratford Senior Center.

He leaves a son, Richard C. Stevens Jr. of West Haven; a daughter, Suzanne Stevenson of Ansonia; three sisters, Ethel Noel, Phyllis Farrell and Beatrice Ryan, all of Huntington; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and a companion, Christina Wood of Stratford. A daughter, Lillian Stevens Radley, and four brothers, Wilford, Hamford, Clifford and Lloyd Stevens, are deceased.

Arrangements: Calling hours 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Bennett Funeral Home, 91 North Cliff St., Ansonia.
