Obituary



Evelyn Margaret Vandenburg Churchill died peacefully in her sleep on June 17, 2017 in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida. She was born on April 12, 1925 in Auburn, N.Y. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband, Charles V. Churchill. She is survived by her daughters Susan (Don) Chastan, Anne (Keyth) Bremiller; sons William (Debi Johnson) Churchill, and Thomas Churchill; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law Patricia Kelley.

Evelyn worked as an Executive Secretary at the Treadway Motor Inn in Batavia, N.Y., and as the manager of Customer Service for Sylvania in Batavia, N.Y. After retiring, she and her husband moved to Leesburg, Florida in 1981. Evelyn had a wonderful sense of humor. She loved visiting with family and friends, and her favorite pastimes were fishing and playing bridge.

Visitation will be held at Beyers Funeral Home in Leesburg, FL on Thursday, June 29, 2017, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. The Celebration of Life will be held at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Leesburg on Friday, June 30, 2017 at 8:30 AM, with burial following the funeral mass at Hillcrest Cemetery in Leesburg, FL.

Donations in her name can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
