Frank P. Shorey Dies

Frank P. Shorey, 84, died Monday evening at the home, 79 1/ 2 Owasco Street. He was born in Hartford, Conn., and had lived in Auburn 50 years. Mr. Shorey was a machinist and retired employee of the International Harvester company and was a member of the Junior Order of Mechanics. He was one of the few remaining veterans of the Civil War In Auburn. He served with the Second Massachusetts Cavalry and was an officer of Seward Crocker post, G.A.R.. many years.

Surviving are his widow, Adelaide M. Shorey; a son, William Shorey of Auburn; two stepsons, Wallace D. Hyser of Syracuse and Raymond F. Hyser of Minnesota, a stepdaughter, Lelah M. Hyser of Auburn and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon, Rev. Edward L. James, pastor of Second Baptist church, officiating. The services of the G.A.R. Daughters of Union Veterans and Auburn Circle, Ladies of the G.A.R.. also will be held. Burial will be in Fort Hill cemetery.

Funeral of Frank P. Shorey

Funeral services for Frank P. Shorey, 83, who died last Monday night at his late home 79 1/ 2 Owasco Street were held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the home. The officiating clergyman was Rev. Edward L. James, pastor of the Second Baptist Church. Services were also conducted by members of Seward-Crocker Post, G.A.R., ladies of the Col. Kennedy Circle and Daughters of Union Veterans.

The services were largely attended and there were many beautiful floral offerings which mutely bespoke the high esteem in which Mr. Shorey was held.

Bearers were George E. Davis, Eugene Pinckney, Guy Van Liew, Frank Way, Clarence Patrick and Arthur Rhinehart.

Interment was In Fort Hill Cemetery. Taps were sounded by Harold Ide, bugler.
