Mr. Robert Farnam Lamb, 73, of 21 Fourth Avenue, Cheshire, Ma. died Wednesday, Sept. 29th, 2004 at his home after a 3 month illness due to cancer. Born on December 31, 1930 in Cheshire, Ma. a son of the late Everett S. and Evelyn S. Farnam Lamb. He attended schools in Cheshire and Adams, Ma. and was a 1949 graduate of the former Adams High School. Mr. Lamb was the co-owner and operator with his late Father and Brother Fred of Lambs Garage in Cheshire, Ma. from 1949 until 1986, at the garage he worked as a professional auto repair mechanic. In 1986 he went to work for Turbo Prop East at North Adams Harriman Airport as parts manager until becoming ill this past April. He had served on the board of directors at Adams Cooperative Bank and also served as chairman of the finance committee at the bank for 15 years. He was instrumental in organizing and coaching the Cheshire Youth Football Program. He was a very active member of the First Baptist Church of Cheshire, where he had served as a deacon and trustee and had often shared his faith by speaking at church services. He enjoyed attending sports events. He was involved with the Berkshire Mission and in 2002 he was a volunteer who went to Honduras to build a school. He was a member and officer of the Cheshire Fire Dept. and had served on the Fire Committee of the Cheshire Fire Dept. He is survived by his wife the former June H. Horn whom he married at First Baptist Church in Adams, Ma. on August 5, 1950. Two sons, Robert F. Lamb, Jr. of Pittsfield, Ma. and Gary E. Lamb of Cheshire, Ma. A daughter, Cynthia E. LaRoche of Cheshire, Ma. A Brother, Fred L. Lamb of Cheshire, Ma. 8 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren.


Funeral Notice: Funeral services for Robert F. Lamb, who died September 29, 2004 will be held Saturday, October 2, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Cheshire, with the Rev. Linda Shaw, pastor officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Cheshire Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials in his memory be made to the First Baptist Church of Cheshire, Cheshire Fire Dept. or Hospice Care of Northern Berkshire all in care of Dery-Cheshire Funeral Home 121 North State Rd. Cheshire, Ma. 01225 which is handling arrangements. Mr. Lamb is lovingly survived by 8 grandchildren, Tara Williamson, Benjamin LaRoche, Jenna Smith, Kelly, Kyle, Joshua, Alicia and Gabe Lamb. Two great grandchildren, Dalton Cantoni LaRoche and Kayden Alicia Bannister and expecting a 3rd great grandchild in December. Also survived by two daughter in laws, Sandra J. and Suzanne Lamb. Son in law, dale J. LaRoche and by a sister in law, Frannie Lamb.
