Frank J. Swan 1937 - 2015 Canterbury - Frank J. Swan, 78, of Canterbury, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening with his beloved family by his side. He was born Dec 4, 1937, a son to the late Stella Rose (Bartizek) and Grover Cleveland Swan Sr. He married the love of his life Doris B. (Becotte) Swan who predeceased him in 2010. Frank was an employee of the former Brooklyn Cooperage Company of Versailles having retired following 38 years of employment. Frank was an active member of the Lisbon Senior Citizen Center. Frank enjoyed woodworking, fishing, bowling, pool and horseshoes. Frank was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family most of all. Frank is survived by his three children, Susan M. Lane and her husband Michael, of Griswold, Larry Swan and his wife Martha, of Canterbury, and Cindy Lou Cassell and her husband Rickie, of Plainfield; three brothers, James Swan of Canterbury, Merton Swan of Plainfield, IL, Kenneth Swan of Canterbury and a sister Sharon Swan of Canterbury; eight grandchildren James Klewin and his wife SuYeun, Daniel Klewin and his wife Courtney, Jennifer Hewey and her husband James, Jonathan, Joshua and Jessica Swan, Jeremy Cassell and his wife Ashley, Sarah Messier and her husband Nicholas; and six great grandchildren Kaylin, Jaxson, Teagan, Cameron, Jeralyn and Landon. Calling hours will be held from 9:00 – 11:00 AM on Saturday Dec. 19th at the Gagne-Piechowski Funeral Home, 490 Voluntown Road, Griswold, CT followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM at St. Augustine's Church in Canterbury.
