Clarke Kaarlsen of San Antonio, Texas, a longtime area resident, died on Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at his home. He was 64.

He was an avid hunter, fisherman and trapper. He never met a bear he didn't like. He also counted himself among the Friends of Bill.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Susan Kaarlsen; two sons, Kevin Kaarlsen of Wurtsboro and Shawn Kaarlsen of San Antonio; one daughter, Karen and Dino Cinelli of San Antonio; grandchildren, Jessica and Kevin Kaarlsen of Chester, and Mollie, Mallorie, and Gehryt Kaarlsen of San Antonio; nephew, Bryan and Karen Kaarlsen of San Antonio; aunts, Marion Musumeci of Middletown, Theresa Ferraro of New Jersey, and Sophie Masker of Walden; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

He was the son of the late Edward and Elaine Masker Kaarlsen and
He was predeceased by brothers, Donn, Edward, and Wayne; and sisters, Jean and Beverly.

A memorial service will take place in New York at the family's convenience at a later date.
