W. M. GOSSE, JR. DIES IN BOSTON

Prominent Athlete Succumbs After Illness

"Wendell Morrison Gosse, Jr., 20, son of Wendell M. and Lucille (Crouss) Gosse of 679 Main St., Agawam, died at the New England Baptist Hospital, Boston, Sunday. Born in Springfield May 19, 1940, he ahd lived all his life in Agawam. He attended the Agawam schools and graduated from Agawam High in 1958."

"Active in sports he was a four letter baseball pitcher and was a pitcher in Little League and the Jim Reynolds League. He was a member of the Agawam Congregational Church and active in church sports. He was a member of the Air Force ROTC; held a student pilot's license and was ready for his final exams for the private pilot's license."

"He attended Franklin and Marshall College in Pennsylvania for one year and was a member of the F and M Drill Team. For the past year he had been employed at Warren F. Hoye, Inc."

"Besides his parents he leaves a sister, Mrs. William F. Gabel of East Longmeadow; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. W. C. Crouss of Agawam, and his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Gosse of Longmeadow."

"The funeral will be held at the Agawam Congregational Church Wednesday at 2 p. m. Rev. Eben A. Chapman will officiate. Burial will be in Center Cemetery, Agawam. Visiting hours at the Dickinson-Streeter funeral home are Tuesday 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p. m. Please omit flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jimmy Fund or the Agawam Congregational Church Memorial Fund."
