A PLEASANT CALL - Last evening a number of the members of the class of which David Salisbury is a member, of Wall street M. E. church, called at his residence to congratulate him on the 91st anniversary of this birth. A pleasant hour was passed in social converse, and several tokens of remembrance were left by Mr. Salisbury's friends, with which he is highly gratified. Mr. Salisbury is remarkable smart for one his age. He is also a member of Victorious Lodge of Good Templars, and is probably the oldest member of the order in the world. The above appeared in the Auburn Daily Advertiser. Mr. Salisbury has resided many years of his long and useful life in Union Springs, enlisting while here, in the late war, he served his time faithfully and now receives a pension from the government. Mr. Salisbury's wife died sever years since and an only daughter, Mrs. James Manchester, followed her about a month ago. A son, George, and his family are all that the old man has left this side the river of time of his children. Union Springs friends will join in the birthday congratulations.
