Obituary



Southbridge: Frances D. (Kroll) Thompson, 95, of Paige Hill Rd., passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 21st, in the Southbridge Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, after an illness.

Her husband, Willard Ray Thompson, died in 2007. She leaves her two sons, Jeffrey Thompson of Brookfield and Robert Thompson of Southbridge; a daughter, Beverly Lacasse and her husband Kenneth of Kennebunkport, ME; a sister, Eleanor Detrich of Flagstaff, AZ; and three grandchildren, Natalie Thompson, Gabriel Thompson, and Tyler Thompson. She was predeceased by a brother, John Kroll. She was born on Sept. 27, 1920 in New Britain, CT the daughter of John and Helen Kroll, she was six days shy of her 96th birthday.

Frances graduated from Bartlett High School in Webster. She worked at the American Optical Co. in Southbridge prior to starting and raising her family. She was a devoted member of Holy Trinity Church in Southbridge. Frances enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, swimming in Webster Lake, and family trips to New Hampshire and Florida. She truly loved holidays and cherished her time spent with family especially her children and grandchildren.

The family would like thank the entire staff at Southbridge Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center as well as Western New England Hospice for their professional and loving care which the gave Frances.

Funeral Services and burial in Oak Ridge cemetery will be private. There are no calling hours. Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, is directing the arrangements.
