Mrs. Charles T. Crouss

"Mrs. Fannie L. (Kathan) Crouss, 93, a former Agawam grammar school teacher, died Sunday. She had resided in Suffield St., Agawam for 65 years. Born in West Brattleboro, Vt., July 17, 1872, daughter of the late Dorr W. and Elizabeth (Briggs) Kathan, she was educated in Vermont schools and was a graduate of Hitchcok Academy, Fiskdale. She had taught Sunday school at Agawam Baptist Church and was one of the oldest members of American Legion Auxiliary Wilson Thompson Post 185. Her husband, Charles T. Crouss died in 1960. She leaves two sons, Theodore A. Crouss of West Springfield and George W. Crouss of Agawam; eight grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held at Curran-Jones funeral home Tuesday at 9:30 a. m. with Rev. Benjamin T. Lockhart, pastor of the Agawam Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Center Cemetery, Agawam. Visiting hours are today, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p. m."
