Raymond J. Clarkson
OAKHAM - Raymond J. Clarkson, 76, of North Brookfield Road, formerly of 125 Manville St., Leicester, died Wednesday night in his home.
He was a stonemason and built houses and fireplaces of natural stone throughout Worcester County, and formerly operated a sawmill in Leicester.
He leave his wife, Sigrid M. (Swanson) Clarkson; a son, Ralph R. Clarkson of Haslett, Mich.; two daughgters, Lorraine C., wife of Richard E. Jubinville of Cherry Valley, and Marion J. Cote of Shrewsbury; a brother, Watler W. Clarkson of Cherry Valley, and seven grandchildren.
He was born in Worcester, son of Joseph H. and Fannie H. (Kimball) Clarkson, and lived in Leicester for 20 years before moving to Oakham in 1969.
Mr. Clarkson was a member of the First Congregational Church here and a former member of Local 6, Bricklayers Union.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. tomorrow in Morrison Funeral Home, 1131 Main St., Leicester. The Rev. Elwood Williams will officiate. Burial will be in New Swedish Cemetery.
Calling hours at the funeral home are 7 to 9 p.m. today.
