Charles T. Aldrich, Jr., a former Worcester merchant and former Blackstone valley mill owner, was before the Sixth district court in Providence yesterday charged with threatening to kill Cordelia Stanton, daughter of William Stanton, 284 Plantation street, Worcester...

Aldrich comes from a family widely known in Worcester and surrounding towns. His father, Charles T. Aldrich lives in Boston, and is retired from business. The elder Aldrich owned satinet mills in Millbury and Ashland, and Aldrich, junior, was more than 10 years proprietor of a prosperous satinet factory in Sutton. Before it burned, it was taxed by the town of Sutton on a valuation of $65,000.

He came to Worcester four years ago and started two grocery stores, one at 354 Plantation street, and another at 12 Aitchinson street. It was shortly after his arrival in Worcester that he became acquainted with Miss Stanton.

His divorced wife, Susetta Aldrich, lives at 351 Plantation street, with her two children. Her story is a pathetic one of misplaced confidence in the man that she loved, and she told it in sad tones and with tears in her dark eyes.

"We were married," she said, reflectively, to a reporter for The Telegram, "21 years ago tomorrow, and I don't believe that he was true to me a single day of our married life..."
