Robert L. Childs
PUNTA GORDA, Fla. - Robert L. Childs, 72, of 11389 Pepper Road, and formerly of Northampton, Mass., died Wednesday in Bay State Medical Center in Springfield, Mass. He was a supervisor at Paragon Rubber Co of Easthampton, Mass. Born in Northampton, he was a graduate of Northampton High School and a World War II combat veteran. He served in the Marine Corps in the Pacific Theater. He leaes his wife, the forner Jean Murphy, two sons, Robert of Worcester and Donald of the Florence section of Northampton; two daughters, Wendy L Dunphy and Jeanne L Rattelle, both of Easthampton, a brother William E. Childs of the Leeds section of Northampton, a sister, Dorothy Emery of Florida; and seven grandchildren. THe memorial service will be Saturday afternoon at College Church in Northampton, with burial at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Childs Funeral Home of the Haydenville section of Williamsburg is in charge.
