Joseph Lippe of Southbridge Dies

SOUTHBRIDGE, Jan. 12 - Joseph Lippe, 61, of 200 Mechanic street, a retired business man of the town, died today at Memorial hospital, Worcester, following a short illness. Mr. Lippe was born in Canada, the son of Gilbert and Adeline (Page) Lippe and has been a resident of this town for 53 years. Mr. Lippe was employed at the Hamilton Woolen Co. mills at one time and later entered the grocery business which he successfully conducted for 32 years. Six years ago he sold the business to his son , Ernest Lippe, and retired because of ill health.

He was an active member of Sacred Heart paris and was also a member of the Counsil Rochambeau of the L'Union St. Jean Baptiste and Court St. George, Foresters of America. His wife, Mrs. Emeline (Demers) Lippe, died six years ago.

He is survived by two sons, Ernest and Raymond and three daughters, Mrs. Charles Bordeau, Mrs. Ernest Desrosier, and Miss Florence Lippe, all of this town. Two brothers, John B and Omer and one sister, Mrs. Adolph Proulx, all of Southbridge...
