CHARLTON – Gloria A. (Duquette) Burque, 89, of Burlingame Road, died peacefully on Friday, February 2, 2024, at the St. Francis Nursing Center in Worcester. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, John L. Burque who died in 2018. She is survived by three children, Peter A. Burque and his wife Darline of Brookfield, Monica A. Blouin and her husband Richard of Charlton, and Patricia A. Denning of Charlton; her brother, Wilrose M. Duquette and his wife Linda of Goshen, CT; 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Sylvia Sheldon and Lorraine Hester; and a grandson, Richard Blouin Jr. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Wilrose J. and Jeannette (Deslauriers) Duquette, and was a lifelong resident of Charlton. She graduated from Charlton High School in 1952.

Mrs. Burque was the cafeteria manager at the Heritage School in Charlton for many years prior to retirement. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Charlton. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, going to flea markets, and trips to the casino.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 9, 2024, at St. Joseph’s Church, 10 H. Putnam Rd. Ext., Charlton. Burial will follow at New Notre Dame Cemetery in Southbridge. Calling hours are Thursday, February 8, 2024, from 4-7 p.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Church, P.O. Box 338, Charlton City, MA 01508.
