Jean LAMPRON (1637 - 1692) — Anne RENAUD (ca 1651 - 1714)

Pioneer Jean Lampron (Laspron) dit Lacharité was laid to rest this day, July 15th, 1692, at Québec.
Jean arrived in New France as a soldier of the Carignan-Salières Regiment. He married fille-du-roi Anne Michelle Renaud in 1669.

The couple had seven children, including a pair of twin girls who did not survive. Jacques Saintonge reports "a curious fact" about the twins (Madeleine and Marie): "one was baptized at the manor house of Michel Cressé , the other at the manor house of [Pierre] Mouet de Moras." Lampron "undoubtedly wanted to please the two seigneurs of Nicolet."

Lampron reportedly dabbled in the fur trade, but was "not in it full-time, but merely to round out his revenue."

Notable descendants of Anne and Jean include wrestling executive "Triple-H" Levesque and filmmakers Jean-Marc Vallée and Denis Villeneuve.
