Francis Gaudette Obituary
LOWELL - Francis D. Gaudette, 73, a resident of the Highlands section of Lowell, a retired machinist and veteran of the Korean War, died Tuesday, March 11, at Willow Manor Genesis Health Care center in Lowell after a long illness.
He was the husband of Margaret M. (Canty) Gaudette with whom he would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 11.

He was born in Boston on July 27, 1929, son of the late Simon D. and Genevieve M. (Pottier) Gaudette, and was a communicant of St. Margaret Church in Lowell. He attended schools in Billerica and graduated from Lowell Trade School.

Mr. Gaudette was a Navy veteran of the Korean War, and served aboard the USS Currituck. He was a member of the VFW Walker Rogers Post 662 in Lowell, and the USS Currituck Association. He was also a lifetime member of the Westford Sportsmens Club.

Prior to retirement, Mr. Gaudette was a machinist for 46 years at the Courier Citizen.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Marie Farrah and her husband Francis, and Margaret F. Gaudette, all of Lowell; seven sons and four daughters-in-law, David Gaudette and his wife Susan of Chelmsford, Michael Gaudette and his wife Linda of Pelham, Edward Gaudette of Lowell, Timothy Gaudette and his close friend Andre Sellers of Richmond, Va., Peter Gaudette and his wife Alma of Chapel Hill, N.C., John Gaudette and his wife Savina of Reno, Nev., and Paul Gaudette of Lowell.

He also leaves 12 grandchildren; a sister, Carol Charpentier of Plymouth; a brother, Paul Gaudette of Dracut; many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late James L. Gaudette.
