Obituary
SHREWSBURY-Arthur Neal Arakelian, of Shrewsbury, son of Mabel E. (Jarvis) and Arthur Arakelian, died Sunday, March 17, 2013 at home. He is survived by his partner of 59 years, Willam F. Robidoux with whom he made his home. They were married June 1, 2004. He is also survived by his sisters Karen L. McArthur and Lesley Goode; an aunt Lucile Jarvis; several nephews and nieces, grand nephews and nieces and cousins. He was a graduate of Worcester Classical High School, studied at School of Worcester Art Museum and New England School of Design. He was buyer/ designer for the former Ulian's Women's Shop, wrote the "Ask Mr. Arthur" column on design for the Worcester Telegram and Gazette for many years. He free-lanced in the art/ design and glass field, and received awards from Glassmasters Guild of New York and was shown at Corning Museum with the Stained Glass Guild of America, of which he was an associate member. His works are in many private collections here and abroad. He was also active in the field of dog showing/ training, and was past president of the Concord Dog Training Club. He was instructor in breed and obedience for many years. He served on the board of the New England Dog Training Club and Poodle Club of Mass, and judged for many non-regular dog shows including the National Specialty Show of the White German Shephard Association.There will be no funeral service at his request. There will be a memorial celebration of his life to be held at a later date.Arrangements are under the care of CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester.
