Saint-David-de-Falardeau is a municipality in the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region of Quebec.

The origin of the settlement of the territory of Falardeau and Saint-Honoré, the neighboring village, is mainly indebted to colonization societies founded by priests of Charlevoix and Chicoutimi, including Father David Roussel of Chicoutimi-Nord. The two villages initially formed a single parish until their separation around 1937.

1911 - The parish of Saint-Honoré is founded, and the territory of Falardeau is part of it.

1920 - The Quebec government named the canton on the north shore of the Saguenay where the locality is located in honor of the Quebec painter Antoine-Sébastien Falardeau.

1937 - Creation of the parish of Saint-David-de-Falardeau, which then separates from that of Saint-Honoré.
Saint-David then had some 700 parishioners.
1948 - Official creation of the municipality of Saint-David de Falardeau.
