Saint-Pierre-les-Becquets: This rural town in the Centre-du-Québec region is known for its agricultural production, particularly in dairy farming. Saint-Pierre-les-Becquets offers a peaceful rural lifestyle and is situated near the Saint Lawrence River.

This village, with an area of 65 square kilometers, overlooks the river like the prow of a ship, a sort of verdant spur, a cliff that rises from Gentilly, maintaining its trajectory to Quebec and located between Gentilly to the west and Deschaillons-sur-St-Laurent to the east.

Market gardening is very present in the economy of the municipality (although reduced in recent years): various vegetables, small fruits, the famous tomato of Saint-Pierre-les-Becquets and a vineyard testify to this fact. grandquebec.com

1683 - Seigniory (Levrard or St. Pierre les Becquets) Granted together with Isle Madame below the Island of Orleans, Apr. 27, 1683, to Sieur Levrard
The name of the village refers to the cultural, social and political history of the locality, recalling one of its first residents, Mr. Romain Becquet, notary, around 1640 (his surname evokes a sharp-billed pike). It was in 1672 that the intendant of New France Jean Talon granted him a seigneury which would bear the names of the Seigneurie des Becquets, Saint-Pierre-les-Becquets and Lévrard. In fact, this last name refers to Mr. Louis Lévrard, gunner of the king, married to Catherine-Angélique Becquet, a daughter of Mr. Romain Becquet, who died in 1682.

This S. is plentifully stocked with timber, some of which is of the best description, but much the greater proportion is cut for firewood, which is sent in large quantities to Quebec. It is watered by part of the Riviere du Chene and some small streams. In the first and second ranges of concessions are a few farms in a very improved state.
